Avoid these 7 common mistakes made by young job seekers
The job interview is not always easy, especially for young job seekers. Here are some mistakes to avoid at your next job interview. Whether that takes place already on site or via a virtual meeting.

1. Arriving late or way too early
Sometimes you may be late for a job interview. A late train, a car that doesn't start, ... In that case, you can make a final cross about this job. So leave on time!
But you shouldn't arrive too early either. If you arrive on site an hour early, find a park or a café and relax. Make sure you get to reception 10 minutes beforehand. That way, you will be punctual.
2. Be arrogant
During the interview, your answers can quickly be perceived as arrogant. So watch your tone. As a young job seeker, it is not unusual that you do not have much experience yet. Show that you want to learn and work with experienced people.
3. Not having a LinkedIn profile
Today, having a LinkedIn profile is the least you can do. Job searching has largely moved to the digital world. Think of it as a public CV that can be accessed by recruiters at any time. Therefore, you need to make sure it is always in good shape.
4. Not being prepared
This is a mistake many young people make prior to their first job interview. For the employer, the interview is the time to know if you meet the requirements of the job. So be well prepared. Explore the company, check out their website and be prepared for the various recruitment tests.
5. Inappropriate photos
Some recruiters view job seekers' Facebook profiles. So be careful about posting photos you might not want to show. If you don't want to delete them, check your privacy settings and make sure these photos are not visible to everyone.
6. Forgetting documents
Many young job seekers come to the recruiter empty-handed. This is a mistake that is easy to avoid. Even if you have already sent it to the recruiter, take multiple copies of your CV with you.
7. Embellishing CV with false information
Many young candidates lie on their CV to get a job. Avoid this, as many employers check the information by calling schools, universities or former employers. Even a simple Google search can expose you. Truth is still the best asset.
