Collaboration with DSV: “Select HR has strong expertise”

DSV has been a key account client of Select HR in Belgium for more than five years. This means Select HR knows DSV inside out and supports them with HR challenges across the entire country. We asked corporate recruiter Cédric how he experiences the collaboration with Select HR.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and explain your role at DSV?

My name is Cédric and I have been a corporate recruiter at DSV for about 2.5 years. I mainly focus on recruiting white-collar profiles in Belgium and Luxembourg and I’m also involved in various HR projects within DSV.

DSV is an international logistics company specializing in all types of transport. Worldwide, we employ around 78,000 people and we have 18 locations in Belgium. I usually work from Ghent, Puurs, Rekkem, Antwerp or the Brussels Airport site, depending on operational needs.

For which profiles do you rely on Select HR?

We are actually looking for many different profiles: operational employees, customer service staff, administrative employees, transport planners. The range is very broad. Select HR supports us in finding various profiles.

We rely on colleagues in Zaventem for logistics sales profiles, while Karen from the Ghent office supports us with HR profiles. But we can also turn to Select HR for sales, marketing and technical profiles.

Do you work with other recruitment partners?

Yes, DSV works with around 12 HR partners. We hire between 150 and 200 white-collar employees each year. That’s why support from strong HR partners is very important. Select HR is one of our top partners.

The strength of Select HR is that you know DSV very well. That’s not self-evident. You understand our culture and needs and propose profiles that truly match our expectations.

What makes Select HR different from other partners?

The open and transparent communication. We have one single point of contact, which allows us to move quickly when new vacancies arise. Our SPOC at Select HR keeps the overview.

We review vacancies weekly and they are shared across the Select HR offices. When a consultant proposes a profile, the contact happens directly with that consultant. That works very well. We also notice that DSV is an important client for you. Many initiatives come from your side and that makes the collaboration enjoyable.

How is the collaboration today?

Very good. I notice that many people at Select HR have strong expertise. The profiles we receive are high quality. That’s reassuring for me. When I reach out to Select HR, I know I will receive strong candidates.

If someone in your network is looking for an HR partner, would you recommend Select HR?

Yes, that happens sometimes and I do refer them to Select HR. What matters most to me in an HR partner are the consultants. That’s the foundation.

At Select HR, many consultants have been with the organization for a long time. That creates a strong base, and new consultants quickly become familiar with the DSV story.
