Dymotec relies on Select HR as its HR partner in the Kempen

In 2024, Select HR celebrates its 20th anniversary. We want to celebrate this milestone together with our partners and clients. It’s the perfect moment to look back on long-term collaborations with some of our trusted partners, including Dymotec in the Kempen region. Managing director Sven Bos shares his experience of the partnership.

Who is Dymotec?

“Dymotec has been active since 1994 and supports customers in the manufacturing industry with the automation of production processes. This includes designing electrical schematics, programming PLC software, building electrical control cabinets, and implementing projects on-site at end customers.

Clients can choose a full-service package or specific services from Dymotec. For example, they can have electrical cabinets built based on their own electrical schematics.

I personally started in 2003 as production manager and later progressed to become part of the executive management team. In 2015 I joined the management and became co-shareholder together with my colleague Davy Nuydens. Since September 2022, Dymotec has been part of the Jeco Energies Group together with GENS Rental and DSG Belgium. This allows us to handle full-scale projects and better support our clients in the markets of energy transition and automation.”

What kind of profiles do you need?

“Ninety percent of our employees have a technical background, with various education levels ranging from technical secondary education to a master’s degree. Diplomas are less important to us. A motivated candidate with a technical diploma can grow quickly by gaining experience and knowledge.

Personality is often the deciding factor. However, a basic understanding of automation and electricity is essential.”

How did you start working with Select HR?

“I met Valérie Leirs in 2005, and since then the collaboration between both parties has only grown stronger. It started as a partnership with an interim agency providing temporary workers, and today Select HR has become a full recruitment partner.

We mainly rely on Select HR for filling our technical profiles, but we can also turn to them for advice regarding other roles. Over the years we have experienced very few issues. Everything is always handled very accurately.”

Why have you been working with Select HR for so long?

“The employees at Select HR understand what Dymotec stands for and translate that into the type of people we are looking for. During the first screening, we often notice that the candidates proposed fit well within our organization.

Out of ten candidates presented, six to seven get the opportunity to start working with us. That’s quite a high success rate. In addition, Select HR never gives us the impression that they are placing candidates purely for commercial reasons, which sometimes happens with other partners.”

How have you seen the HR sector evolve over the past 20 years?

“Twenty years ago, candidates had to present themselves to employers and show what they could bring to the company. Today it’s often the other way around: candidates ask what the company has to offer them.

The market has completely shifted. Today you have to work much harder to convince candidates. The opportunities for them are almost endless. In my opinion, consultants at Select HR have to go through an intensive process to convince candidates to choose a specific company.”

How has the role of an HR partner changed?

“For us, the role of Select HR has expanded significantly over the past few years. For the last three years they have been our full HR partner. The colleagues at Select HR screen the first contacts via our company mailbox, take the first calls with candidates and conduct an initial screening. Based on their evaluation, candidates can continue in the recruitment process.”

What sets Select HR apart from other HR partners?

“No matter how intensive the process is, Select HR continues to understand what Dymotec as a company wants. We find it impressive how they constantly put themselves in our organization’s position.

Even the new consultants at Select HR quickly understand what we mean. And that’s a real strength.”
