“We’re sorry, your application was not selected”, what can you do?
Those who have already applied may have heard this sentence: you were not selected for this position. This can be a difficult message to hear. However, it is important to reflect on this rejection: why was I not selected? And how can I do better next time?

Ask for feedback!
A simple email saying “you were not selected”, without any explanation, does not help. The consultants at Select HR always ask for additional information when a client does not select a candidate. So what should you do with the feedback? Work on your weaknesses. If there are mistakes in your CV or cover letter: fix them! If you are shy during interviews, practice with a friend or even your pet. If you lack certain skills, you might follow a course or look for a job where those skills are less important.
